GenFlix FAQ

Frequently asked
questions.

Clear answers on the platform, the standard, and how GenFlix works.

GenFlix is a public streaming platform for AI-generated films.

It is designed to host, assess, and present AI-native cinematic works using a consistent, standards-based approach.

GenFlix currently provides:

  • A public, web-based streaming platform
  • A standards-based assessment and certification system
  • GenFlix Badges for quality and engagement signalling
  • A creator portal (GenFlix Studio)
  • Aggregated audience and engagement insights
  • A TV application is currently in development for connected and smart TV devices.

Films are assessed using the GenFlix Certified Index (GCI).

  • The GCI is the assessment mechanism
  • The resulting GCI score represents the GenFlix Standard for a film
  • The GCI uses the GenFlix Intelligence Platform, built on Google Cloud, to evaluate films across cinematic and technical dimensions such as visual consistency, narrative structure, audio quality, temporal stability, and overall execution.

GenFlix Badges indicate a film’s assessment and engagement status.

Badges are calculated using:

  • 70% weighting from the GCI score (standards-based quality), and
  • 30% weighting from aggregated user engagement metrics

This weighting ensures badges remain quality-led while incorporating audience response, and reduces skew from pure popularity signals.

GenFlix Studio is the creator portal for the platform.

It allows creators to:

  • Upload AI-generated films
  • Submit content for GCI assessment
  • View GCI scores (the GenFlix Standard)
  • Prepare and manage content for publishing

Studio may also provide assessment feedback and performance insights.

Creators retain full ownership of their films.

GenFlix does not claim IP ownership and does not use creator content for AI training without consent.

GenFlix uses aggregated and anonymised usage data to:

  • Understand audience engagement
  • Support discovery and platform improvement

In the future, GenFlix may offer anonymised, aggregated data insights to partners. No personally identifiable data is sold or shared.

GenFlix currently supports public viewing and early-stage creator participation.

Future monetisation may include subscriptions, advertising, revenue sharing, or data-driven insight products.
